Citroen MPV: Citroen, the French automaker in India, currently has two products – C3 hatchbacks and C5 aircrosses. Now the company plans to enter the compact MPV segment with a new 7-seater model based on the C3 hatch. Its testing has already started. The new Citroën 7-seater MPV can be brought in against Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, which has been ruling the segment since its launch. At the moment, Kia Carrance is also receiving good feedback in this segment. Citroen’s new MPV will also compete.
The new Citroen 7-seater MPV may look like C3 ( especially the front and rear profiles ). However, it will be longer and will have more cabin space. The model that was shown during testing saw a 16-inch wheel replacing the C3’s 17-inch wheel. Plastic body cladding, large glass area and long rear overhang are likely to be found around the model’s body. It will also have higher ground clearance.
The new Citroën MPV will be designed on the CMP ( Common Modular Platform ) of the Stellantis taken from the C3 hatchback. However, the company can change its architecture for models with lengths greater than 4 meters. Interior layout and features are likely to be similar to the C3 hatch. Its touchscreen infotainment system, instrument cluster, dashboard design, center console and steering wheel can also be found from C3.
The 7-seater MPV may have many more standard features. It can be made available with 6 and 7-seat configurations. Its 6-seater version will accompany Captain Seats in Middle Row. The new Citroen 7-seater MPV can get 1.2L, 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol and 1.2L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine.
