The Maruti Grand Vitara is being eagerly awaited and the company has started booking it. It is reported that its production can be started in August and at that time its test drive can also start. The company is waiting for the launch of the Toyota Highrider and after that the Grand Vitara will be brought. Strong hybrid engine has been taken from the Highrider in this SUV.
The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol intelligent electric hybrid engine, which is a self-charging strong hybrid engine. It produces 115.56 hp power and 122 Nm torque, this engine mated to E-CVT gearbox gives a mileage of 27.97 kmpl. With this, EV, Eco, Power and Normal drive modes are available.
Its second engine is the 1.5-litre K-series, petrol engine that comes with Smart Hybrid technology. This engine provides power of 103.06 hp and torque of 136.8 Newton meter. It has Idle Start/Stop technology, 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox. The Grand Vitara manual gives a mileage of 21.11 kmpl, Automatic 20.58 kmpl and AllGrip Manual 19.38 kmpl.
It also gets the option of AllGrip off-road which improves the off-road driving ability of this SUV. This all-grip technology from Suzuki provides differentiated off-road capability to the vehicles. The company offers three versions of All Grip, in which first is All Grip Auto, second, All Grip Select and third, All Grip Pro.
The All Grip Select usually stays in auto mode and works in front wheel drive for better mileage but automatically switches to all wheel drive whenever required. The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara All Grip variant offers a mileage of 19.38 kmpl. Its sport mode is useful for walking on the roads of the ghat. This mode uses all wheel drive while cornering and accelerating.
The Grand Vitara only gets the option of all wheel drive in the mild hybrid engine and it is not available with the strong hybrid engine, this engine has been taken from Toyota. Front wheel drive is provided with this engine. It is powered by the same 1.5-litre petrol engine that comes mated to a CVT gearbox. The company will not offer all wheel drive in it as it is not compatible with all grip technology.
After the introduction of the Maruti Grand Vitara, it is being discussed a lot and now the booking has also started. Now it has to be seen when the test drive of this SUV starts and how many bookings it gets before the launch.
