This means that it will launch around this Navratri festival. It has been developed in collaboration with Toyota and will be produced at Toyota’s plant in Karnataka. The carmaker started taking pre-bookings from July 11 for a token amount of Rs 11,000. The company has received 50,000 orders so far. The Maruti Grand Vitara will be sold through the brand’s premium Nexa dealership network.
According to the leaked information, the Maruti Grand Vitara SUV model lineup will come in four trims – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. It will have three automatic and seven manual variants. The manual model is expected to be priced between Rs 9.50 lakh and Rs 15.50 lakh, while the automatic variant could be priced between Rs 12.50 lakh and Rs 15 lakh. The strong hybrid powertrain will be available only in the Zeta+ and Alpha+ variants, which are likely to cost Rs.17 lakh and Rs.18 lakh respectively. These are all possible ex-showroom prices.
It will get two powertrains – Mild Hybrid and Strong Hybrid. The mild hybrid will get a 1.5-litre K15C petrol engine unit while the strong hybrid will get the 1.5-litre TNGA Atkinson cycle engine. Strong hybrid will get 115bhp combined power while mild hybrid will get 103bhp power. The mild hybrid powertrain will come mated to two gearbox options – a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic with paddle shifters. Suzuki’s all-grip AWD technology will be available in the Alpha manual trim.
The strong hybrid setup will be available with an eCVT gearbox and will be capable of delivering a mileage of up to 27.97kmpl. The carmaker says that the Maruti Grand Vitara Mild Hybrid will be available in 2WD manual, 2WD automatic and AllGrip AWD variants, which will give fuel efficiency of 21.11kmpl, 20.58kmpl and 19.38kmpl respectively.
