Maruti Suzuki Ertiga CNG Waiting: The country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki has recently launched the CNG version of its Baleno and XL6. These are the first Nexa cars from the company to come with CNG. Apart from this, the company is already offering CNG features in Alto 800 to WagonR and Dzire. Although a CNG car of the company is in highest demand. There is a waiting period of 9 months on this vehicle, not a month or two.
The updated Ertiga was launched by the company in April and later the option of CNG was added to this vehicle. The demand for the CNG model of the vehicle has seen a boom since its launch. According to the report, there is currently a waiting period of 9 months on this vehicle. Apart from the high demand, the company is also facing a shortage of semiconductors.
Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited said, “At present, there are about 1.23 lakh units pending bookings for CNG vehicles. Of these, 72 thousand bookings are for Ertiga S-CNG only.”
Maruti Suzuki India offers the Ertiga CNG model in two variants – VXI(O) and ZXI(O). Its price is Rs 10.50 lakh and Rs 11.60 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). 1.5-litre petrol engine has been given in this MPV. It is capable of generating around 87 Bhp and around 122 Nm of torque in CNG mode. The Ertiga CNG is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Maruti Suzuki’s current line-up of S-CNG cars comprises of 8 models – Alto, Celerio, Wagon R, Swift, DZire, Ertiga and Eeco under the Arena range. On the other hand, the Nexa range now has two S-CNG models with the introduction of the Baleno and the XL6.
