Maruti has launched the CNG version of the Celerio . The option of CNG kit is given only in the mid-variant VXi. Its price has been kept at Rs 6.58 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), which is Rs 95,000 more than the regular petrol variant.
The 1.0-litre petrol engine has been given in the Celerio CNG, but its power output is less when running on CNG. Its CNG variant generates 56.7 PS of power and 82.1 Nm of torque, which is 8.5 PS and 7 Nm less than the petrol engine. It has a 5-speed manual transmission standard.
The Celerio CNG gives a mileage of 35.6 km/kg which is highest among all CNG cars. It has a fuel tank capacity of 60 liters which when full can provide a range of up to 210 kms.
Features such as full wheel cover, 60:40 rear split seat, central door locking, front/rear power windows and electrically adjustable ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirror) have been given in the VXi variant of this vehicle. For passenger safety, it gets dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors. Compared to the top variant, it lacks features like 15-inch alloy wheels, fog lamps, engine push button start-stop, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity and steering mounted controls.
