Market Cap: Market cap of these seven companies including HDFC Bank, LIC increased by Rs 3.04 lakh crore, Hindustan Unilever, Airtel and ITC incurred loss.

 

The market value of seven of the top 10 companies in the country increased by Rs 3.04 lakh crore last week. Last week, BSE’s benchmark index Sensex rose by 2,344.41 points or 3.47 percent.

On Friday, the last day of the trading week, the Sensex based on 30 shares rose by 303.91 points or 0.44 percent to reach its record high of 69,825.60 points. During this period, the highest increase in market position was recorded in Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), ICICI Bank, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Reliance Industries.

The market cap of HDFC Bank, the largest private sector bank, increased by Rs 74,076.15 crore to Rs 12,54,664.74 crore. LIC’s market cap increased by Rs 65,558.6 crore to Rs 4,89,428.32 crore. This Thursday, as LIC shares reached their highest level in 52 weeks, the insurance company touched the figure of Rs 5 lakh crore. The market capitalization of ICICI Bank increased by Rs 45,466.21 crore to Rs 7,08,836.92 crore.

The market cap of TCS increased by Rs 42,732.72 crore to Rs 13,26,918.39 crore. The market capitalization of Reliance Industries Limited increased by Rs 42,454.66 crore to Rs 16,61,787.10 crore. The market cap of State Bank of India (SBI) increased by Rs 37,617.24 crore to Rs 5,47,971.17 crore. Infosys’ share increased by Rs 15,916.92 crore to Rs 6,18,663.93 crore.

In contrast, last week the market cap of Hindustan Unilever declined by Rs 9,844.79 crore to Rs 5,92,414.19 crore and the market cap of Bharti Airtel declined by Rs 8,569.98 crore to Rs 5,61,896.90 crore. The market cap of ITC also declined by Rs 935.48 crore to Rs 5,60,223.61 crore.

Reliance Industries remains on top in market cap

With this, Reliance Industries remains at the position of the most valuable company in the country. After this there are TCS, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Infosys, Hindustan Unilever Limited, Bharti Airtel, ITC, SBI and LIC.
