Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who reached Mauritius on a two -day visit, has met President Dharambir Gokhul. During this time, he presented many things related to Indian culture to the President of Mauritius, which includes the water of Sangam from Superfood Makhana and Mahakumbh in Bihar. PM Modi also presented a saree of Banarasi Silk to Vrinda Gokhul, wife of President Gokhul.

Makhana and Banarasi saree promoted
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government is giving a lot of emphasis on Makhana in recent years. Recently, PM Modi had said that he himself eats Makhana regularly. The Narendra Modi government had announced in the recent budget that Makhana Board will be formed there to increase Makhana production in Bihar.
Talking about Banarasi sarees, these saris are made in Banaras. Banarasi silk saris are considered a symbol of luxury and cultural heritage which are known for their excellent silk, complex embroidery and zari work.
Traditional Banarasi saree usually comes in royal blue color, on the border, wide brocade work and pallu has a brilliant embroidery. These sarees are worn at weddings, festivals.
PM Modi has given this Banarasi silk saree to Mauritius’s First Lady in the Saideli box of Gujarat. There is a work of heavy jadau on the box that is designed to cherish precious sarees, jewels and memorable things.
