Mahindra has taken the wraps off its all-electric SUV range. It has unveiled these new electric SUVs in the UK. These new electric vehicles will be designed at the MADE (Mahindra Advanced Design Europe) design studio based in the UK. And they will be presented to the buyers in India for the first time on 10th February. Cars in this range will be unveiled a day before the first Formula E race in Hyderabad.
The carmaker has brought its Mahindra Racing Factory team on the Formula E grid, which has been a part of Formula E since its inception. The team is also focusing on the M9Electro race car. The Hyderabad E Prix weekend therefore paves the way for the debut of Mahindra’s future passenger car in India.
XUV.e Special Features
Mahindra’s upcoming range of electric SUVs is divided into two different brands – XUV.e and BE. BE is the new electric-only sub brand from the company. There are two models of the XUV.e. Whereas, there are three models of BE.
Where both the model lines will have a completely unique design. At the same time, the same electronic INGLO platform will be used in these. The XUV.e range will be the first range to go into production from December 2024. After this, work on BE models will be started from October 2025.
Mahindra’s XUV brand is known for its range of ICE models. But the company is focusing on creating a distinct identity for its electric models. The Twin Peaks logo of the EV will feature a copper finish, similar to the one seen on the recently launched XUV400. The concept of the XUV.e8 is similar to the XUV700. After this, the company will bring the XUV.e9, which will be a completely new vehicle. Its production is expected to start in April 2025.
Meanwhile, the BE range of electric vehicles is slated to arrive from 2025. Its look will be different from other cars. It will have C shaped LED headlamp. The BE range will start with the BE.05 coupe-SUV and will be labeled as a sports electric vehicle. It will be followed by the BE.07, which will have a more traditional SUV design.
