Mahindra Scorpio Classic has been brought in two variants S and S11 which have been priced at Rs 11.99 lakh and Rs 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively. Whereas the manual variant of MG Hector Plus has been priced at Rs 14.65 – 20.94 lakh, while its automatic variant has been priced at Rs 18.64 – 20.44 lakh.

Features

Talking about the features, the 2022 Scorpio Classic gets LED headlights, LED DRLs and fog lamps. It gets 17-inch alloy wheels. The SUV gets a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with phone mirroring and smartphone connectivity inside, a two-tone beige-and-black interior, wood inserts on the dash and comfortable seats.

MG Hector Plus 7-inch digital instrument cluster, 8-colour ambient lighting, leather steering wheel, auto headlight, auto AC, panoramic sunroof, push button engine start/stop, cooled glove box, powered tailgate, keyless entry, Tilt and telescopic steering, rain sensing wipers, i-smart technology etc. have been given.

Safety

For safety, the Scorpio Classic has engine start/stop, ABS with EBD, two front airbags, rear parking sensors, cruise control. On the other hand, Hector Plus gets 360 degree camera view, electric parking, ABS with EBD, front parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat mount, speed sensing auto door lock, front passenger seat belt reminder, traction control system etc.

Mahindra claims that the new engine is 55 kg lighter and 14 per cent more fuel efficient than the previous model. The Scorpio Classic is powered by the second generation mHawk engine that churns out 130 Bhp of power and 300 Nm of torque. This engine is made available with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The MG Hector Plus is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 143 bhp of power and 250 Nm of torque, mated to a DCT gearbox. This model of the company gets a 60-liter fuel tank and front and rear disc brakes have been given for braking.

In terms of pricing, Mahindra Scorpio Classic is the winner but if you are looking for features and equipment, then the Hector Plus with a slightly higher price tag would be a suitable choice.
