Mahindra Electric delivered the vehicle to the first customer of Mahindra Treo three-wheeler in Amritsar today under the Rahi project. Explain that under the RAAHI project, the Punjab government has started a campaign to replace auto-rickshaws running on petrol and diesel and run electric rickshaws. The project covers 12 cities, including Amritsar, where Mahindra Electric will deliver 500 units of the Trio electric auto rickshaw in the next few months.
Under the RAAHI project, a subsidy of Rs 75,000 is being given to each beneficiary. If the customer decides to buy Treo in advance, the entire subsidy will be credited to his account, whereas if the customer takes a loan, Rs 15,000 will be credited to his account. The balance amount of Rs 60,000 will be adjusted against the loan amount.
Under this scheme, buyers will be given loan at attractive interest rates for 4 years with a maximum loan amount of Rs 2.5 lakh. It is noteworthy that this subsidy is being given in addition to the FAME-II exemption.
Mahindra Electric has partnered with Common Service Center (CSC) to increase the reach of its electric vehicles in rural areas. Under this partnership, Mahindra Electric will make its Treo and Alfa range of electric vehicles available in rural markets.
Mahindra Electric is recruiting local entrepreneurs at select CSC centers. These entrepreneurs will inform potential customers about Mahindra’s electric three-wheeler vehicles and motivate them to buy the Treo and Alfa range of vehicles. Apart from this, customers will also be informed about government schemes being run for electric vehicles.
