While there is a gathering of sages and saints from all over the country in the Mahakumbh of Prayagraj, a different scene can be seen in a tent on the banks of Sangam. More students than sadhus are seen in the tent of Payahari Mouni Baba, resident of Mahoba. These students take coaching for civil services examinations from Baba. The special thing is that Baba has been silent for the last 41 years and is surviving only on tea. Despite this, his energy and dedication is a source of inspiration for the students.

Unique resolution of silence and penance
Payahari Mouni Baba observed the fast of silence 41 years ago and along with it he also gave up food and water. He depends only on tea with milk and drinks tea about 10 times a day. Baba’s real name is Dinesh Swaroop Brahmachari. He is associated with Shivshakti Bajrang Dham located in Chilbila, Pratapgarh. Baba believes that by remaining silent one accumulates energy, which he uses for the welfare of the world.
Unique way of free coaching
Baba gives free coaching to the students preparing for Civil Services and State PCS. The special thing is that Baba gives this education without speaking. They prepare notes to teach students and send them through WhatsApp. Students also ask him questions, to which Baba answers in writing or through notes. According to Baba, every year 2-3 of his students get selected in the civil services examinations. A student told Aaj Tak team that Baba answers her questions through WhatsApp. Apart from this, they explain to the students by writing on the copy.
Rejected compassionate appointment and adopted renunciation
Payahari Mouni Baba’s family is a family of teachers. His father was a principal, after whose death Baba got compassionate appointment in the education department. But by then the feeling of devotion and service to God had become strong in Baba’s mind. Leaving worldly attachments, he adopted the path of renunciation. Baba believes that the purpose of religion and spirituality is service and welfare.
Baba fond of tea and fast bike
Baba is fond of tea and only tea is given as Prasad to the devotees who come to him. Apart from this, Baba is also fond of driving high speed bullet bike. Baba’s bike, which travels from Prayagraj to Pratapgarh in 45 minutes, is always at a speed of not less than 100 km/hour.
A book explaining the essence of religion and life
Payahari Mouni Baba has also written a book, whose name is “Dharma Karma Marma Sagar”. In this book, the scriptural rules for every aspect of life – from birth to death and from sleeping to waking up – are mentioned. This book is expected to be published by February. Baba says that this book is the essence of his years of penance and experience.

Mahakumbh will start from January 13
Kubh fair is held every 12 years but this is Maha Kumbh which is held once in 144 years. Crores of devotees from India and abroad are expected to participate in this event. The Mahakumbh fair will start from 13 January and will continue till 26 February. During Mahakumbh, lakhs of devotees take a dip in the holy waters of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati.
