Uttar Pradesh Police has taken extensive steps to deal with possible cyber threats and ensure public safety during Mahakumbh 2025. A multi-dimensional strategy has been made under the leadership of Director General of Police Prashant Kumar. This strategy not only focuses on preventing cyber crimes, but also emphasizes on making the general public aware.
Actually, District Cyber Cell, Cyber Crime Police Station and Special Cyber Police Station for Maha Kumbh Mela have been established in Prayagraj Mahakumbh. Cyber space is being monitored 24×7 through these units. Police personnel have been trained by cyber experts, so that they are technically competent and can immediately resolve any cyber attack or fraud.

Helpline number 1920 has been operated for Mahakumbh Mela. Also, complaints of cyber crimes are being resolved expeditiously through National Cyber Helpline number 1930 and NCRP portal. A dedicated team of cyber experts is active 24 hours a day. Any suspicious activity is being identified and immediate legal action is being taken.
Awareness campaigns are being run on a large scale to protect the public from cyber crimes. These include short films, radio jingles and social media creatives. Posters and banners regarding cyber security have also been put up in the Mahakumbh area.

Considering the presence of lakhs of devotees in Mahakumbh-2025, cyber security has been given top priority. This initiative of the police will not only provide a safe environment to the devotees, but will also effectively curb digital crimes.
