According to the information, police say that Gurpreet Gogi was alone in his room and was cleaning the pistol. During this time suddenly a bullet was fired, which hit him in the head. After this, when the family members saw him, they immediately took him to DMC Hospital in Ludhiana, where the doctors declared him dead.
After the information, police reached the spot and took stock. Ludhiana DCP Jaskaran Singh Teja said that the people present in the family house have told that AAP MLA Gurpreet Gogi died after being shot in the head by his own accidental fire. He was declared dead when taken to the hospital. His body has been kept in DMC hospital.
Gurpreet Gogi left Congress and joined Aam Aadmi Party in the year 2022. He defeated senior Congress leader and two-time MLA Bharat Bhushan Ashu from Ludhiana West seat. His demise has come as a big blow to the party and its supporters.
Although the family and police are calling it an accident, this case has raised many questions. The question is whether it was really an accidental fire or some kind of mistake? Was Gogi’s licensed pistol in good condition? Did this incident happen while cleaning the pistol or is there some other reason?
