The facelift of the Compass was brought in last year and it got a lot of changes. But even after a year, the Trailhawk variant of this SUV has not been brought yet, the company is delaying it. It is going to be different from the standard variant and is being targeted towards the customers who love to go off-road.
The Compass Trailhawk will be offered with aggregate and off-road focused hardware, which includes a different 4-wheel-drive system to the standard Compass. The company is going to add cosmetic elements to this car. Further changes are expected in these cosmetic elements through variant-unique bumpers, accents and alloy wheel designs.
Talking about the interior, the company can be given a new dashboard in this car. Like the standard variant, this car gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, new AC vents and HVAC controls, in which the company’s Uconnect 5 technology can be given. Apart from this, Amazon Alexa support, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support and over the air update will be supported in this car.
The steering wheel has also been redesigned in the standard variant and the Jeep brand badge has been kept in the horizontal strip. In terms of safety, it gets 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, ESC, hill descent control, panic brake assist, ready alert braking, electronic roll mitigation and brake lock differential, rain brake support, select terrain 4×4 system, automatic headlamps and rain sensing wipers. Many other features have been given.
It will be powered by a 2.0-litre Multijet diesel engine, which comes mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox. This engine provides 170 bhp power and 350 newton meter torque. It will get an active 4×4 system, rock mode and hill descent control. We estimate that its price can be kept between Rs 30 lakh – 35 lakh.
Jeep will bring new models
This includes Jeep’s new sub-compact SUV which is currently in its initial stages. The company has confirmed that it will be built on the new common modular platform. It can be brought in the Indian market in 2023 – 2024, this SUV is going to compete with Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300. More details of this may be revealed in the coming days.
It will be powered by Jeep’s 1.2 liter turbocharged petrol engine. This engine provides maximum power of 130bhp, this engine can be brought with a hybrid engine. Through this, the company would like to strengthen its hold in the popular compact SUV segment in the country. Presently the company is not present in this segment.
It is believed that due to the poor condition of the chip, the company is not bringing this variant, although it has been delayed only by a month. The off-road enthusiasts of the country are eagerly waiting for it.
