Lamborghini Urus Performante: Another powerful car from the Italian brand, what will it be able to show, read the review

Lamborghini Urus Performante – Design

In the Lamborghini Urus Performante, we get to see the sharp and edgy design. In this, the company has given a new front bumper and air intake grille. The Urus Performance gets a revised front bumper with a new air curtain and more vents at the rear to cool the V8 engine. The bonnet needs to be lifted to access the twin-turbocharged powerplant which is now made of carbon fibre.

The Performante gets new attractive alloy wheels as well as carbon fiber side skirts and a new wing at the rear with side fins made from the same lightweight material. The diffuser on the Urus Perf is also made of carbon fiber and the rear bumper gets four tailpipes on either side.

The interiors of the new Performante are largely similar to the outgoing Urus. However, you do get a lot of Alcantara including the roof headliner. The seats feature hexagonal stitching along with new graphics on the touchscreen infotainment and new Rally option on the mode selector.

Lamborghini Urus Performante – Specifications

The Lamborghini Urus Performante features the most powerful version of the 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine. The engine makes 666hp (657bhp) at 6,000rpm and 850Nm of peak torque from 2,250 to 4,500rpm. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

The Urus Performante features a new active chassis setup with 48V active anti-roll bars. The lightweight performance SUV also gets rear-wheel steering and new coil-spring suspension in place of the old, heavy air suspension setup, which has lowered the ride height by 20 mm.

The Urus Performante comes with a choice of attractive alloy wheels (22 or optional 23 inches). Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R semi-slick tires have been used in the car.

Lamborghini claims that the Urus Performante can do 0-100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds while it can reach 200 km/h in 11.5 seconds. The top speed of the Urus is rated at 308km/h.

The Urus Performante measures 5,137mm long, 2,026mm wide and 1,618mm tall and has a 3,006mm long wheelbase. The curb weight of Lamborghini Urus Performante is 2,150 kg.

Lamborghini Urus Performante – Driving Experience

The road course saw us hurtling up and down the Nandi Hills from our base, around 36 kms in total, which saw us drive the super SUV on the highway and up the steep, hairpin-infused road up and down the Nandi Hills And down.

The sticky Trofeo R tires along with the lowered coil-over suspension setup means the Urus Performante feels extremely stable on the road and while a bit on the stiff side, isn’t bothered by bad roads or potholes.

Putting the foot down allows the monstrous twin-turbo V8 to unleash its fury on the world, especially with the custom EGO mode engaged on the Anima. Throttle response is extremely sharp and leaves almost everyone on the roads as a trickle in the mirror.

Once on the narrow back roads leading up to the Nandi Hills, the rear-wheel steering and sticky rubber of the Urus Perf allowed us to really push the ‘super SUV’ through the hairpins.

The second part of the experience saw us take a few laps around the under-construction course at the Brain Raceway. The current unfinished nature of the course means there’s plenty of loose sand and gravel, while the sweeping turns allow you to experience the SUV’s tail-happy nature in the new off-roading ‘Rally’ mode.

In this mode, most of the power is sent to the rear wheels by the Urus Performante’s all-wheel-drive system and it allows you to execute rally-style drifts on dirt that leave a smile on your face.

However, once you get used to the rear-biased rally mode and you learn to control the drift with a little reverse lock and some right-foot control, the Urus is an absolute hoot. To be fair, the SUV allows you to play the hero and live out some Colin McRae video game dreams in real life, albeit with road-biased Trofeo R tyres, while the electronic nanny makes sure it all sounds like a monstrous nightmare. Do not end up as

Lamborghini Urus Performante – Conclusion

The Lamborghini Urus Performante is much more than just a loudmouth in a fancy suit. Mild, mean and grumpy than ever before, this Urus Performante really ignites the urge to seek out a good dirt track to throw some dust in the air. Add some good road manners with a little devilish fun from the exhaust thrown in and the Lamborghini Urus Performante is the performance SUV to buy, provided you have the money to match yours.
