Lack of sleep negatively affected the willpower and efficiency of employees during the working day

In a study conducted by Vladislav Rivkin, associate professor in the Department of Organizational Behavior at Trinity College, 214 employees were interviewed. As a result, data were obtained for 1317 days. The results were published in the publication Human Relations.

It turned out that there is a close relationship between efficiency at work and sleep. Lack of sleep reduces the willpower of employees, their motivational resources (vigor and energy during the day), emotional resources (an optimistic outlook on the performance of daily activities). In addition, convincing a person that their possibilities are endless helps them to be more productive on days when they haven’t slept well.
