e-Passport Benefits: Along with the increasing digitalization in the country, many things have become online. Nowadays the government is also trying to digitize most of the services. Keeping in view the convenience of the common people, the Ministry of External Affairs is going to issue e-passport.
A question related to e-passport was asked in the Lok Sabha by Minister of State for External Affairs V. Muraleedharan. Answering this question, the Minister of State for External Affairs said that the government is working on the e-passport scheme. At present, its advanced security features (Security Features of E-Passport) are being worked on and will be launched in India soon.
E-passport will be more secure
It will be like a normal passport in which information like name of passport holder, date of birth, photo etc. will be recorded. There will also be a chip in this passport. In this passport, all the information of the person like sign and details will be stored in digital form. These data will be used only for passport related work. Due to this it will be very difficult to steal his data. Along with this, all these data will be stored in the database as per the industry standard. This data will also be monitored 24 hours a day.
E-passport may be issued this year
Let us tell you that it is expected that the e-passport will be issued by this year. At present, the technical test of its sample is going on. For this, technical eco-system and infrastructure is being created. After this it will be gradually implemented in the whole of India in a phased manner.
