Kia Seltos Safety: The Hyundai Creta continues to dominate the B-segment for the time being. But, with the speed with which other car companies are bringing their products in this segment, it seems that Hyundai will have to do a lot of updates in the Creta, otherwise it may lose its dominance in the market. Recently it was seen that Toyota introduced its Urban Cruiser Highrider in this segment. After this Maruti Suzuki introduced the Grand Vitara. Apart from this, Kia’s Seltos SUV has been giving a good competition to Hyundai Creta in the market for a long time. Now Kia has given a big update to the safety features of the Seltos.
Kia has started offering 6 airbags as standard in the Seltos. This will further increase the safety of the car. It has been claimed by Kia that the Kia Seltos is now the first car in its segment, with six airbags being provided as standard across all variants. However, there has been a slight change in the price due to this. Earlier the price of the base variant of Kia Seltos used to start from Rs 10,19,000 but after this update now the price of base variant starts from Rs 10,49,000. It is worth noting that before this, Kia has also offered 6 airbags as standard in its car.
Hardeep Singh Brar, Vice President and Sales-Marketing Head, Kia India said, “Seltos is an exclusive product for Kia India. Seltos has set many benchmarks. Seltos contributes nearly 60 per cent to Kia’s total sales in the country. We have offered many first-in-segment features in the Seltos and now we are continuing this by offering six airbags as standard.”
According to the company, the demand for petrol and diesel variants of Seltos is balanced. Around 46% customers prefer the diesel variant of Seltos. The top variant accounts for 58% of the total sales of Seltos. Significantly, Kia India has crossed the 5 lakh car unit sales mark in the country in less than 3 years.
