Kia Seltos Engine Update: Kia Motors has launched its 2023 Seltos SUV in India. As a major change, its engine has been updated for RDE and E20 fuel. But now only the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and turbo-diesel engines are available with the car, the turbo-petrol engine has been dropped from the lineup. The ex-showroom price of this car starts from Rs. 10.89 lakhs and goes up to Rs. 19.65 lakhs.

The 2023 Kia Seltos’s HTE trim is priced at Rs 10.89 lakh ex-showroom for the 1.5 NA petrol MT, Rs 12.39 lakh ex-showroom for the 1.5 diesel MT. The ex-showroom price of its HTK trim 1.5 NA Petrol MT is Rs. 12.00 lakhs, the ex-showroom price of 1.5 Diesel MT is Rs. 13.69 lakhs. While the ex-showroom price of 1.5 NA Petrol MT of HTK+ trim is Rs. 13.10 lakh, ex-showroom price of 1.5 Diesel MT is Rs. 15.29 lakh. The HTX trim is priced at Rs 14.90 Lakh ex-showroom for 1.5 NA Petrol MT, 1.5 NA Petrol CVT at Rs 15.90 Lakh, 1.5 Diesel MT at Rs 16.59 Lakh, 1.5 Diesel AT at Rs 17.59 Lakh. Its HTX+ trim’s 1.5 diesel MT costs Rs. 17.59 lakhs. Whereas the 1.5 diesel AT of its GTX+ and X Line trims are priced at Rs 19.35 lakh and Rs 19.65 lakh respectively.
The price of its base variant has increased by ₹ 20,000, while all other petrol variants have increased by ₹ 25,000 and all diesel variants by ₹ 50,000.
2023 Kia Seltos Powertrains
The Seltos is now available with only two engine options, in which the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine generates outputs of 115hp/144Nm and the 1.5-litre diesel engine generates outputs of 116hp/250Nm. The diesel engine now gets a 6-speed iMT transmission instead of the 6-speed manual gearbox, along with a 6-speed torque converter automatic. Its NA petrol engine gets the option of 6-speed manual and CVT automatic gearbox. Apart from this, no other changes have been made in this car.
Turbo-petrol engine will be available later
The company will add the turbo-petrol engine option to the Seltos later and customers may have to wait longer for it. Seltos will get a new 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine, which generates power of 160hp. The same engine is also found in Alcazar and Carens. This new engine is likely to be found in the facelift version of this car.
With whom is there competition?
Seltos competes with cars like Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara and Skoda Kushaq in the Indian market. The Hyundai Creta gets the same powertrain as the Seltos, and is almost identical to the Seltos in terms of other features and pricing.
