Kia launches 150 kWh fast charger for passenger vehicles, will charge up to 80 percent in 42 minutes

New Delhi.
Kia India has inaugurated India’s fastest charger for passenger vehicles at its dealership in Gurugram. This DC fast charger with a capacity of 150 kWh has been installed in Dhingra Kia, Gurugram. With this, Kia India has taken its first step towards developing EV infrastructure in the country and will set up even more charging stations across all its EV dealerships this year.

Speaking on the occasion, Myung-sik Sohan, Chief Sales Officer, Kia India, said, “We have made a new beginning with an aim to make the EV buying experience even better and with this we started this year globally. Launched our best EV – Kia EV6 in India. To take our efforts further, we are now extremely excited to introduce the country’s first DC Fast Charger for Passenger Vehicles with 150 kWh charging capacity. At the same time, we are also playing our part in the journey of development of EVs in India.”

He further added, “We will be installing a total of 15 such chargers in 12 cities by August 2022, and we hope that such small steps will play a vital role in attracting people towards EVs in the country.”
