Kia India installs country’s first 150 kWh DC EV charger in Gurugram

The Korean carmaker plans to take this further by August 2022 by installing 15 150kWh chargers across its EV dealerships across 12 cities in the country. This 150kWh charger has the ability to charge the battery from 10 to 80 percent in about 42 minutes.

The speed will vary depending on the model plugged in and customers can avail the service by reaching any dealership and paying as per their usage. Myung-sik Sohn, Chief Sales Officer, Kia India has given information about this.

He added that “We started with an ambition to make EV ownership aspirational and earlier this year launched our global best EV – Kia EV6 in India. To take things further, we are now offering 150 kWh charging. Incredibly excited to inaugurate the first DC fast charger for high-capacity passenger vehicles, playing our part in India’s EV growth story.”

He further added that “At Kia India, it is our constant endeavor to provide a superior customer experience and we believe that such fast-charging solutions will address the range concerns and charging time issues faced by EV owners. “

Myung-sik Sohn said that “We have started the journey of providing a unique EV experience across all our EV dealerships in the country and here, we will be able to meet the charging requirements of EVs from other OEMs as well. A total of 15 such chargers will be installed in 12 cities by 2022.”

“We hope that small steps like these will go a long way in boosting the adoption of electric vehicles in the country,” he added. Let us tell you that at the beginning of last month, Kia launched its first electric car Kia EV6 in the Indian market.
