Kia Motors, which is fast making its way into the Indian car market, today inaugurated India’s fastest charger for Passenger Electric Vehicles at its Par in Gurugram, Haryana on 5th July. This DC fast charger with a capacity of 150 kWh has been installed at Dhingra Kia showroom in Gurugram. Equipped with 150kWh power, this fast charger can charge 42-80% in less than 10 minutes (this capacity may vary depending on the model). Customers can avail this charging facility by visiting the Gurugram dealership and paying as per usage. In line with the company’s commitment to offer a world class mobility solution, this initiative will provide fast charging facility to all EV owners. With this, Kia India has taken its first step towards developing EV infrastructure in the country and will set up more charging stations across all its EV dealerships this year.
Speaking on the occasion, Myung-sik Sohan, Chief Sales Officer, Kia India said, “We have made a new beginning with an aim to make the EV buying experience even better and with this we have launched our best electric vehicle globally earlier this year. The car Kia EV6 has been launched in India. To take our efforts further, we are now extremely excited to introduce the country’s first DC Fast Charger for Passenger Vehicles with 150 kWh charging capacity. Myung-sik Sohan said, “We have embarked on an endeavor to provide an unmatched EV experience across all our EV dealerships in the country. Here, we will also address other OEM’s EV charging requirements. We will install a total of 15 such chargers in 12 cities by August 2022. Let us tell you that Kia India has recently launched the Kia EV6, its first premium electric car in India, which gives a range of 528 km on a single charge. As part of its EV roadmap, Kia will launch India-centric EVs by 2025.
