Sonet and Carens have been updated by Kia. After the update, the IMT powertrain has been included in the diesel in both the vehicles. Due to the new powertrain, the prices of both the vehicles have also increased.

The company’s new 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine with IMT transmission has been given in Cairns. The new engine has been replaced by a 1.4-litre turbocharged engine. Now it will also get the option of 7DCT gearbox. Apart from this, the option of 1.5 liter natural aspirated petrol and 1.5 liter diesel engine will also be available.

After the update, the prices of the Cairns have been increased. Now the Cairns can be bought between Rs 10.45 lakh to Rs 18.95 lakh. Prices for the Turbo IMT variant start at Rs. 12 Lakh and go up to Rs. 17.05 Lakh. Whereas, the price of Cairns with DCT starts from Rs 15.25 Lakh to Rs 17.95 Lakh. Diesel Carens price starts at Rs. 12.65 Lakh and goes up to Rs. 18 Lakh.

The prices of Sonnet have also been changed by Kia. The prices of its 1.2 liter petrol and one liter turbo charged variants have been increased by up to Rs 25,000. The price of its HTX DCT variant has been increased up to the lowest of Rs 19 thousand. The Sonet is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission. With the turbo petrol engine, the Sonnet has been given the option of a six-speed DCT or an IMT. The prices of its diesel variants have been increased by up to Rs 50,000. After which it can be bought at an initial price of Rs 9.95 lakh. Its top variant has cost Rs 14.89 lakh. The diesel manual variants of the Sonet have been replaced with the IMT powertrain. After which it is the only SUV in its segment to get the option of a six-speed automatic gearbox.
