The Kerala Police Department has inducted a total of 44 Force Gurkha SUVs into the fleet. According to the information, these vehicles will be pressed into service in the police stations located in hilly and Naxal affected areas. According to a media report, this is the first time that the Kerala Police has procured the Force Gurkha.
Apart from this, 72 Mahindra Boleros are also included in the police fleet. It is being told that these vehicles will soon be deployed at various stations across the state. Let us tell you that the new Force Gurkha was launched in September last year.
Let us tell you that Force Motors had increased the price of its 4X4 off-road SUV Force Gurkha earlier this month. According to its official website, the starting price of the Force Gurkha SUV has been revised to Rs.14.10 lakh (ex-showroom).
It is being sold for Rs 51,000 more than its old price. Force Motors launched the off-road SUV on September 27 last year at a starting price of ₹ 13.59 lakh (ex-showroom). The new generation Force Gurkha has been introduced with a modern design style and many new features.
The SUV now gets a bold and sporty look with a new front grille and LED headlight. The new generation Force Gurkha has been given a newly designed circular LED headlamp, integrated LED DRL light and LED stop light.
It gets a new front bumper with Gurkha written in capital letters. Apart from this, black cladding and halogen fog lamps are available on the bumper. Coming to the side profile of the new Gurkha, it gets 16-inch steel wheels, black ORVMs, black roof rails, functional racks and turn indicators.
The company has made the new Force Gurkha available in 5 colors – Red, Green, White, Orange and Grey. More changes have been made to the interior of the new Force Gurkha as compared to the exterior. Inside the car gets a new black theme cabin. The special thing is that now instead of bench seats in the rear, captain seats have been given, due to which this car has now become more premium from inside.
The car’s cabin has a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also has a semi-digital instrument cluster that gives information about speed and rpm. Apart from this, the steering, door panels and seats have also been updated.
The 2021 Force Gurkha is powered by a 2.6-litre 4-cylinder BS-VI diesel engine. This engine is capable of generating maximum power of 90 bhp and peak torque of 250 Nm. Its engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. This engine is less powerful than Mahindra Thar.
The new-generation Force Gurkha is also equipped with updated safety features. Safety features like ABS-EBD, dual front airbags, rear parking sensors, tire pressure monitoring system, speed alert, seat belt reminder have been provided in the new Force Gurkha.
