Shashwat Goyal missed out on becoming the second crorepati in Sony TV’s popular show Kaun Banega Crorepati-14 (KBC 14). He made a mistake at the end of the game. Due to this mistake, he also had to lose his winning amount of 7.5 crores. Shashwat played the game very carefully and used the three life lines he got very wisely.
Shashwat Goyal used his last lifeline on the question of Rs 75 lakh. After that he had won Rs 1 crore. His next question was for Rs 7.5 crore. Shashwat was the first contestant to reach Rs 7.5 crore this season. At the same time, the audience also started calling him the second millionaire. But his one mistake cost him his game. He did not know the answer to the question of Rs 7.5 crore, but still he showed the courage to attempt this question. His courage was also praised a lot on social media.
For Rs 7.5 crores he was asked- Which British troop was given the motto Primus in India as it was the first troop to be stationed in India?
Its options were-
A- 41st (Velve) Regiment of Foot
B- First Coldstream Guard
C- 5th Light Infantry
D- 39th Regiment of Foot
Goyal answered this question as Option A- 41st (Velve) Regiment of Foot which was wrong. The correct answer to this question was Option D 39th Regiment of Foot.
Shashwat could not give the correct answer to this question and he lost even Rs 1 crore while winning. After giving a wrong answer, he came back to his halt of Rs 75 lakh. Although the host of the show Amitabh Bachchan had warned him against playing the question, Shashwat attempted the question and missed out on winning Rs 7.5 crore. In this way, Shashwat could win only Rs 75 lakh and missed out on becoming a millionaire.
