India Kawasaki Motor (India Kawasaki Motor), the Indian subsidiary of Japan’s leading two-wheeler manufacturer Kawasaki (Kawasaki), has started the delivery of its new Kawasaki W175 (Kawasaki W175) retro motorcycle in the Indian market. The Kawasaki W175 is the most affordable offering from the brand in the country and was launched in September this year. This bike competes with motorcycles like Royal Enfield Hunter 350 (Royal Enfield Hunter 350) and TVS Ronin 225 (TVS Ronin 225) in its segment. The modern-classic segment is gaining popularity. When talking about Kawasaki, multi-cylinder liquid-cooled engines come to mind. However, the company has given 177cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine in Kawasaki W175. Mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, this engine generates 12.8 bhp power and 13.2 Nm torque. This engine gets a two-valve setup and is fuel injected.

Talking about the look and design of the new Kawasaki W175, it seems to be influenced by the company’s another model, the W800. The W175 gets features such as tear-drop style fuel tank with round headlight, squarish side panels, full front and rear fenders, round turn signals and side-slung exhaust. The Kawasaki W175 gets a retro design, and its black colored engine components and exhaust give it an attractive look.


Talking about its size and dimensions, the new Kawasaki W175 motorcycle gets a ground clearance of 165 mm while its seat height is 790 mm. The 2022 Kawasaki W175 gets telescopic front forks for suspension and dual shocks at the rear. For braking, it has disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear with ABS. The bike gets a single pod instrument cluster, 65-watt halogen headlight, and 17-inch rims wheels with spokes.

The semi-digital instrument cluster is quite simple, which comes with an analogue speedometer, odometer and trip indicators. 6 warning lights on the console indicate high-beam, turn signal, neutral and other details. Kawasaki does not offer smartphone connectivity or other features as the company believes that there is generally no demand for these features in this segment.
