According to the Quto resource, KamAZ is going to produce a small-class city bus to compete with PAZ products.
Pavlovsk Bus Plant occupies 46% of the new bus market in Russia. So far, one can only guess how the market will change with the arrival of a new player, but at least KamAZ has a lot of experience and opportunities.
It is reported that the company will take the chassis of the Compass medium-duty truck, which is almost completely based on the truck of the Chinese company JAC, as the basis for the bus. What characteristics the bus will have has not yet been reported, but the Compass is equipped with Cummins turbodiesels with a capacity of 149 or 168 hp.
