Jio Welcome Offer rolled out for some users, how to enjoy Jio 5G for free

Reliance jio Reaching more Indian cities with its 5G services in the coming days. The Mukesh Ambani-led telecom giant is currently offering 5G services dubbed as Jio True 5G in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata, Varanasi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Nathdwara, and Hyderabad. Since the service is under beta, Jio 5G is available for select users.

Jio has announced a welcome offer to join and enjoy 5Gen network connectivity for free. The telco has announced that the Jio Welcome Offer will be available for select Jio customers.

Users must have a Jio 5G-network enabled device.
Staying in Jio 5G-network coverage area.
And for prepaid and all postpaid users with an active Jio plan of Rs 239 or above.

Jio 5G Welcome Offer is currently available only in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and 5 other cities. Under the special 5G offer, the telco is providing unlimited 5G data to its customers with speeds up to 1GBPS.

Jio Welcome Offer is invitation-based, and not everyone can receive the invitation in Jio 5G connectivity cities. According to reports, Jio will send free 5G service invites to users who have an active plan of Rs 239 or above in prepaid or postpaid.
Jio had earlier assured its users that they would not have to buy a new 5G SIM to connect to the 5G network. Instead, the existing Jio 4G SIM will support 5G connectivity. So, users only need to check if their phone has a plan of Rs 239 and above. Notably, Jio will send Welcome Offer invites on the My Jio app. So, if you are living in one of the Jio 5G eligible cities, head over to the MyJio app to check for the invite.

Jio 5G will be available on n28, n78, n258 bands. Several Android smartphone makers have already rolled out system updates to support Jio 5G including Samsung, Oppo, OnePlus, Nothing, Vivo and Realme. However, some phone makers are yet to release the required OTA update for 5G compatibility, but are expected to release it as soon as the end of this year.
At the same time, iPhone users will get 5G update in December. Apple has already launched support for 5G with its iOS 16.2 beta. The iOS update will be rolled out to everyone by the end of this year.
