The new Toyota Fortuner is 26 mm longer and 153 mm higher than the Meridian. The wheelbase of the Jeep Meridian is 49 mm longer than that of the Fortuner, which helps the Jeep to create more space inside the cabin.

On the other hand, the Toyota Fortuner SUV comes with 8-way power-operated driver seat, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connectivity options, 18-inch machine cut alloy wheels, waterfall quad LED headlamps, ambient lighting, sunlight-based seat ventilation system, kick Sensor power comes with other features including back door, automatic AC. It is the only SUV in this segment that does not have a panoramic sunroof.

Coming to the engine, the Jeep Meridian is powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that also powers the Compass. The company has not disclosed the power and torque figures, but according to the information, this engine generates 170 bhp power and 350 newton meter torque. Transmission options include 6-speed manual and 9-speed automatic gearbox. There are four driving modes in this SUV – Sand, Snow, Auto and Mud. The 6-speed MT of the Jeep Meridian comes with a front-wheel-drive layout, while the 9-speed automatic gearbox model gets front-wheel drive as an option along with an all-wheel drive system.

The new Toyota Fortuner is offered with two engine options. This includes a 2.7-litre petrol and a 2.8-litre turbocharged diesel engine. The petrol engine produces 164 Bhp of power and 245 Nm of torque, while the diesel engine is capable of producing 201 Bhp of power and 500 Nm of torque. Transmission options include 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox. It is available in a diesel engine variant with the option of a 4-wheel drive layout.
