The SUV took 72 hours to complete the 1,200 km journey of the desert. The Compass Trailhawk has passed through conditions ranging from temperatures of over 40 degrees during the day to almost freezing cold at night. The Compass Trailhawk traveled from Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan to Kutch, Gujarat.
During this time the SUV passed through the areas of Alisar, Bikaner, Dhani, Sena Dunes, Chhote Rann, Kala Dungar, Virgin Dunes, Barner, Jaisalmer and Kutch with extreme temperatures. The SUV also tackled sand dunes and rocky paths, etc.
To recall, the Jeep Compass Trailhawk was launched in India last month at a starting price of Rs 30.72 lakh, ex-showroom. It has been launched in the Indian market as an off-road focused SUV, which includes the 4X4 standard drivetrain. The company has added some very special design elements to this car. For convenience, the vehicle gets a sunroof, ventilated front seats, wireless smartphone charging, dual zone climate control, connected car technology and many more. Apart from this, Amazon Alexa support, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support and over the air update (OTA) support are also available in this car.
The Jeep Compass Trailhawk is powered by a 2.0-litre, turbocharged diesel engine that produces 165 Bhp of power and 350 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 9 speed automatic gearbox. The SUV will also get a four-wheel-drive setup with Jeep’s Select Terrain system. We estimate that its price can be kept between Rs 30-35 lakh.
