Before the ICC Champions Trophy to be held in February-March this year, bad news has emerged for Team India. Champion bowler Jasprit Bumrah will not be able to play some matches of the tournament due to injury. He may be out of group stage matches. Jasprit Bumrah is suffering from back spasm. In the 5th and last Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy played in Sydney, he walked out of the field on the second day and did not come out to bowl in Australia’s second innings. He complained of back spasm, after which he was scanned. He is currently recovering and will soon report to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru for his rehabilitation.
A source close to Team India said, since Bumrah is injured and will report to NCA for his rehabilitation, we are hoping that he will recover soon. As far as his selection for the Champions Trophy is concerned, there is not much certainty about it. Considering his fitness, only the selectors will take the final decision in this regard.
