Japan and Britain to jointly create a new engine for fighters

We are talking about fighters created under the Tempest and FX programs. The Japanese and Briatans have already entered into an agreement to create prototype engines for aircraft. It became part of military-technical cooperation between countries, which also includes joint work on air-to-air weapons.

The development of the engine demonstrator will begin in 2022. The UK will allocate £ 30 million for this “planning, digital development and innovative manufacturing development”. Rolls-Royce and BAE Systems, as well as Japanese IHI Corporation and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, will participate in the project.

So far, what is known about the new generation of fighters is that they will be large and will be equipped with two engines. It is possible that they will be released in both manned and unmanned versions.
