The ministry has mandated that each new model vehicle in the N2 and N3 categories should be manufactured with effect from September 1, 2022 and from January 1, 2023 in the case of existing models. In accordance with Automotive Industry Standard (AIS) 140, vehicles carrying dangerous or harmful goods shall be fitted with a vehicle tracking system device.

Explain that N2 category vehicles are motor vehicles used for the carriage of goods weighing between 3.5 tons to 12 tons, while N3 are vehicles used for the carriage of goods weighing more than 12 tons. happens more.

Vehicles carrying hazardous materials often do not have tracking devices, making these vehicles difficult to track. In such a situation, there is a risk of theft and misuse of dangerous substances from these vehicles.
