israel planning to destroy rafa city

There is no visible impact of the ceasefire resolution passed in the UNSC on the dangerous war between Israel and Hamas. Meanwhile, a new revelation has come to light that the IDF is preparing to turn another city into Marghat.

Despite the ceasefire resolution passed in the UNSC, there has been no apparent impact on the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. Additionally, recent reports suggest that the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) are preparing for a ground operation in the city of Rafah, indicating escalating tensions.

Pro-Hezbollah Al-Akhbar, citing Egyptian sources, reported that the IDF is planning a significant attack on Rafah after Eid-ul-Fitr, potentially launching a ground assault in April or early May. Concerns have been raised that such action could result in severe consequences for civilians, similar to the situation in Gaza.

Reports indicate that the ground offensive into Rafah could last for four to eight weeks, posing a significant risk to the 1.5 million people currently seeking refuge in the city. Despite international calls for restraint, including from the United States, Israel appears determined to proceed with its military operations.

American officials have urged Israel to avoid targeting civilians in Rafah and to conduct any military action with consideration for civilian safety and humanitarian aid delivery. However, it remains uncertain whether these appeals will influence Israel’s actions on the ground.

The recent rift between America and Israel was evident when the ceasefire resolution in Gaza passed with majority support in the UNAC meeting, with only America abstaining from voting. Israel criticized the US for not using its veto power to block the resolution, highlighting tensions between the two allies.
