RX 7900XT top
The Radeon RX 7000 graphics cards will be unveiled in a few days, but today we can look at the RX 7900 XT.
The picture next to the RX 6900 XT (bottom) shows a prototype of the new AMD adapter, but at the same time, apparently, in terms of design, it is either identical or as close as possible to the production card, since AMD itself has already shown us images.
Of the important, several aspects can be noted. First, there are two eight-pin connectors, meaning AMD has indeed decided not to use the new PCIe 5.0 port. Secondly, and this comes from the first point, AMD’s new products will definitely not be very voracious, since the indicated configuration of the power connectors indicates a power consumption of no more than 375 watts.
Thirdly, at least the reference cards will be relatively small by the standards of the latest top-end adapters. The length of the reference RX 6900 XT is 267 mm, while the novelty will have it a little more. The thickness is about the same at all, that is, it is less than three expansion slots. In comparison, the GeForce RTX 4080 FE is 304mm long and takes up three expansion slots.
The information was shared by the insider @9550pro, who has long proved his knowledge. In particular, recently he was the first to share data on overclocking the GeForce RTX 4090 to 3 GHz and showed the results of testing at this frequency.
