Is a person able to independently assess how drunk he really is

According to a study published in the Harm Reduction Journal, it is very difficult for people to figure out on their own whether their blood alcohol level has dropped to 0.5 ppm. In an experiment conducted by scientists within the framework of this study, 90 students took part. The subjects drank a variety of alcoholic beverages (beer, wine, or both) until the alcohol level was 1.1 ppm.

At the same time, the participants had to determine when their alcohol level dropped to 0.5 ppm and 0.8 ppm. As a result, on the first day, 39% of students said they had a blood alcohol level of 0.5 ppm, when in fact it was higher. On the second day, more than half reported the same, although this was also a delusion.
