IPL 2024, DC vs MI: The IPL match between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI) will be played today at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi from 3:30 pm. Delhi Capitals performed well in bits and pieces in the tournament, registering spectacular wins in many matches and also facing embarrassing defeats in many others. However, after winning three out of the last four matches, it reached sixth place in the points table and if it defeats Mumbai, its hopes of reaching the playoffs will remain intact.

Even a defeat may prove costly for Mumbai.

On the other hand, after a bad start, Mumbai Indians (MI) won three out of the next four matches, but this team lost to Rajasthan Royals by 9 wickets in the last match. Now even a defeat can prove costly for Mumbai, who is ranked ninth in the points table. The most positive thing for Delhi has been the form of captain Rishabh Pant who is improving match after match. His performance behind the wicket has been excellent and he is playing freely while batting. On Wednesday, he played an unbeaten innings that won the match against Gujarat Titans.

Expect better performance from Prithvi Shaw

Rishabh Pant’s place in the T20 World Cup team seems certain. Delhi has got a good top order batsman in the form of Jack Fraser McGurk, but better performance is expected from opener Prithvi Shaw, because as an impact substitute, his responsibility is only to bat. Delhi Capitals will not get the services of opener David Warner and fast bowler Ishant Sharma, who will not play in this match due to injury.

Kuldeep-Akshar showed amazing spin bowling

Shai Hope, who played in place of Warner in the last match, could not do any wonders, hence the Australian batsman may return to the team. Tristan Stubbs has been effective while Axar Patel, who came up the batting order against Gujarat, has also performed brilliantly. Kuldeep Yadav and Akshar have shown amazing spin bowling, but Delhi’s fast bowlers will have to perform better. Fast bowler Enrique Norcia has given runs at an economy rate of around 14. Khalil Ahmed and Mukesh Kumar have also not been effective.

Jasprit Bumrah is Mumbai’s trump card in bowling.

Mumbai Indians had registered their first win this season against Delhi and captain Hardik Pandya would like to repeat it. Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Verma have performed well in patches while Tim David, Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya have not been able to play big innings. Jasprit Bumrah has been the trump card in bowling who has taken 13 wickets at an average of around six. Gerald Coetzee of South Africa has taken 12 wickets at an economy rate of 10.10.
