iPhone users in India will soon be able to use Airtel’s 5G network

Users in India of the worldwide popular iPhone will soon get access to Airtel’s 5G services. Tests related to 5G are being done by Apple in India and there are reports that Airtel has installed networks for the company. These services of Airtel are currently available in eight cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi and Bangalore.

5G Telecom Services was introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the India Mobile Congress last week. The country’s largest telecom company Reliance Jio’s 5G services will be available in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata by the end of this month. Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani has set a target to take these services across the country by the end of next year. The 5G network is currently not accessible on all iPhone models in the country. Apple said that the iPhone 12 and above models support the 5G network of some telecom companies. Its access will be given through an OTA update for all iPhone users.

The telecom department had received total bids of around Rs 1.50 lakh crore in the recently held spectrum auction. The department had initially estimated revenue of Rs 80,000-90,000 crore from this.
