According to analyst Jeff Pu, this year Apple will equip the iPhone 15 Pro with a periscope lens with 5x optical zoom.
He also said that Apple is in business negotiations with Zhejiang Lante Optics. Zhejiang Lante Optics is expected to become the telephoto lens supplier for the periscope camera.
Currently, Apple is evaluating samples, approval should be completed before May this year. If the negotiations are successful, the supply of Zhejiang Lante Optics components will reach 100 million units.
Recall that last year’s iPhone 14 Pro received a 48-megapixel camera instead of the 12-megapixel one that has been used for six years. However, the periscope camera that Android smartphones have had for several years is still missing from the iPhone.
If Apple sticks to the established schedule, then the iPhone 15 will be presented in September this year.
