iPhone 14 will use Chinese memory for the first time

According to Mydrivers, an integrated circuit manufacturer IDM specializing in the production of 3D NAND flash memory, as well as Yangtze River Storage Technology Co., Ltd., which also provides complete memory solutions, have entered the Apple supply chain and will supply flash memory for iPhone 14.

YMTC’s entry into Apple’s supply chain was first reported by South Korean media, who reported in a report that Apple listed YMTC as the supplier of NAND flash for the iPhone 14. So far, flash for iPhone smartphones has been supplied by Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, and Kioxia , and RAM was supplied by Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix.

Experts believe that Apple’s collaboration with YMTC will further diversify the list of NAND flash memory vendors, as well as help reduce the price of this important component. It is not yet known for which specific iPhone 14 models Chinese-made memory will be used.

The presentation of the iPhone 14 is expected tonight.
