The authors of the PhoneBuff channel conducted a comparative crash test of the iPhone 14 Pro Max and Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. Unlike most of these reviews, the authors of the channel have been using a robotic arm and the same test scenario for a very long time, so the comparison is more relevant.
The first fall covered the back cover of the Apple novelty with a dense cobweb of cracks, and the glass of one of the camera modules was also damaged. Samsung’s flagship also didn’t survive the fall without consequences, but it still held up much better.
Falling on a corner also survived worse than the iPhone. The Galaxy S22 Ultra actually suffered just the corner on which the smartphone fell. But the consequences of the screens falling down turned out to be approximately equal for both flagships. The glass cracked quite noticeably, although the displays were not damaged.
In general, we can say that the Galaxy S22 Ultra turned out to be a little stronger, but this is very conditional and relative. The authors themselves summed up the same number of points for smartphones. At the same time, both smartphones received tangible damage, but in reality, when falling, a lot depends simply on chance.
