The author of the YouTube channel Max Tech collected insider information about the iOS 18 firmware and told what innovations to expect from it. Among the main expected changes is a “smarter” Siri, as well as a set of functions for working with photos and text.
According to the source, some AI functions of iOS 18 will be “tailored” to the Apple A18 processor with an improved neurochip, so not every one of them will work on all iPhones. An updated version of Siri will likely appear on many models due to its cloud-based architecture. According to rumors, the company is developing its own language model called Apple GPT, on the basis of which the “charged” version of the voice assistant will be built.
The proprietary AI is also credited with a number of new functions: shortening text, answering questions and creating media content directly on the smartphone, as well as photo processing, AI image search, a tool for animating stationary objects in photos and creating GIF files based on text descriptions.
Among other expected innovations, the source mentions a keyboard with an improved text prediction algorithm and Human Gajan Splats technology, which will allow you to highlight people in videos, and then animate and transfer them to other scenes. Finally, AI analysis of health indicators with the preparation of “medical” recommendations may appear in iPadOS.
