It has been disclosed in a disclosure that the dossier of Starlink is presently under the scrutiny of Communication Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. Ashwini Vaishnav awaits ultimate approval from the Ministry of the Interior on certain matters pertaining to security.

As per a report by TOI, solely upon acquiring all the requisite authorizations will Starlink be granted the authorization for the provision of Global Mobile Personal Communication via Satellite Service in India. The report also quotes undisclosed sources affirming that the financial aspects of Starlink, including its valuation and foreign investment, have been subjected to scrutiny. It has transpired that this application conforms to the established protocols.

The company has furnished a declaration of ownership. Per sources cited in the report, it has been further expounded that all the essential technical prerequisites in accordance with the licensing conditions have been validated. Moreover, the enterprise has also presented the declaration of ownership. With regard to ownership, the government sought to ascertain that Starlink had no stakeholders hailing from countries that share a terrestrial border with India. Furthermore, the government necessitates an assurance from the enterprise that the traffic traversing Indian airspace and territorial waters terminates solely at the local gateway. Additionally, the data streams originating from satellites must be directed exclusively towards India. The enterprise has provided assurances to the authorities in this regard, asserting that it possesses remedies to address these concerns.
