Stock Market Closing On 28th February 2023: The Indian stock market closed down for the eighth consecutive trading session despite a spectacular rally in Adani Group’s shares. This decline has been due to profit booking in IT, energy and pharma stocks. At the end of today’s trading, the BSE Sensex closed below 59,000 at 58,962 points, down 326 points, while the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed at 17,303 points down 89 points.

Today, shares of IT, Pharma, FMCG, Metals, Energy Banking, Healthcare, Oil and Gas sectors closed down. While the shares of sectors like auto, consumer durables, media closed sharply. Midcap and smallcap stocks also closed sharply in today’s session. Out of 50 stocks of Nifty, 17 stocks closed with gains while 33 stocks closed with losses. Whereas, out of 30 Sensex stocks, 10 stocks closed with gains while 20 stocks closed with losses.
