According to the information received, let us tell you that only 4,875 cars were sold in Pakistan in the month of November. This is a decline of 68 percent compared to November 2022. According to data from Pakistan Automobile Manufacturers Association (PAMA), 15,432 cars were sold in the country in November 2022. India is ahead compared to Pakistan
India is continuously achieving heights in the automobile industry. In the month of November, the Indian automobile industry, filled with festive cheer, sold 2.88 lakh car units. Yes, for information, let us tell you that India’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki alone sold 1.34 lakh units. More than 80,000 new vehicles were registered in the country’s capital Delhi, of which about 18,000 were cars. That means, more than 4 times the total number of cars sold in Pakistan in the month of November were sold in Delhi alone.
Many reasons for poor performance
There are many reasons for the poor performance of the automobile industry in Pakistan. The weak economy of the country and the decreasing purchasing power of the common man has also affected the sales. Thus, carmakers are navigating uncharted waters filled with obstacles. For instance, Pak Suzuki has been the worst affected with a year-on-year decline of 72 percent. Indus Motor Company Limited registered a decline of 71 percent. Whereas sales of Honda Atlas car declined by 49 percent.
