Nepal Cement Export to India: For the first time, Nepal has started exporting cement to India. The first consignment of cement from Nepal is reaching India from a check post along the Uttar Pradesh-Nepal border. Let us tell you that Pulpa Cement Industries in Nawalparasi district of Nepal has sent the first consignment of 3,000 cement sacks to India from Sunauli border. The government had announced an 8% cash subsidy to companies exporting cement using Nepalese raw materials. Since then, Palpa Cement Industries of Nepal started exporting building materials to India.
Capacity 22 million tonnes
Today more than 50 cement companies are doing business in Nepal. In this, 15 including Pulpa Cement Industries Ltd. produce both cement and clinker. The total cement production capacity of the companies is 22 million tonnes.

An official of Pulpa Cement says that the company has exported about 3,000 bags of cement to India. Now we will export as per demand on daily basis. Industrialists have welcomed the business development between India and Nepal. Nepal has now become self-sufficient in building materials.

Cement exports can reduce Nepal’s trade deficit with India by 15%. The demand for PPC cement was higher as compared to OPC in the Indian market. Pulpa Cement Industries is producing 1,800 tonnes of cement and 800 tonnes of clinker per day, while it has a capacity to produce 3,000 tonnes of cement.

Neighboring country Nepal has the potential to export 150 billion Nepalese currency worth of cement. Nepal’s cement industry, despite its huge potential, is grappling with market problems. This industry does not have a large market for cement consumption in Nepal.
