Mercedes EQS is going to be launched in India soon. This will be the second all-electric offering from Mercedes-Benz and the launch is slated for the last quarter of 2022. The Mercedes EQS, on the other hand, will be the first locally-produced luxury EV in the country.
Will launch 10 new cars The company
Mercedes already offers the EQC SUV which is sold in India as CBU. And its price is more than ₹ 1 Crore (Ex-showroom). In addition, the company has confirmed 10 new car launches for the Indian market this year, including the EQS, with the S-Class Maybach slated to debut in March.
Focus on Electric Cars When the
EQC was launched in late 2020, Mercedes brought an electric car for the first time in the luxury car space in India. The company says that they have got an overwhelming response. There are many more reasons due to which Mercedes is going to introduce its flagship electric sedan in India.
EQS to be produced
in India And we were always clear that we will make it available to the customers here.The EQS will be made in India only.
Local production will cost less.
Currently, there are many options available for the luxury EV space. Route car can also be brought through CBU, but then due to the high price, only select customers will be able to buy it. Mercedes says that the production of more EV cars will bring down the price, while also allowing for quicker deliveries.
Two battery pack options
Mercedes EQS is already being made available in two battery pack options. The first lot will have a 107.8 kWh battery pack, while the second lot is in progress with a 90 kWh battery pack. The EV is being offered globally in two variants. The EQS 450 will be offered with 333 hp and the Mercedes EQS 580 4MATIC with 523 hp and all-wheel drive.
