Increasing dissatisfaction in Congress before Bihar assembly elections? Discussion of K factor fast – Bihar Assembly Elections Trouble Brewing in Congress Kanhaiya Kumar Ntcpas

After the defeat in Delhi, Maharashtra and Haryana assembly elections, the Congress has now started preparations for the upcoming assembly elections of Bihar. After the Lok Sabha elections held in 2024, elections have been held in 4 states so far. The Congress has suffered a big setback everywhere. In such a situation, Bihar elections are going to be important in many ways for the Congress.

For the Congress, Bihar’s politics has been to form an alliance with RJD for a long time. The Congress has chosen the alternative to the alliance instead of strengthening itself in this state. Even in the Lok Sabha elections, the RJD-Congress alliance in Bihar had less success than the Samajwadi Party-Congress alliance of Uttar Pradesh.

But in the discussion K factor …

Despite playing the second role with RJD and having a limited role, concerns in the state are not less for the Congress. For months, problems have been increasing in the state unit about old grievances, ego conflicts and ambiguity of leadership. It would not be meaningless to say that it is not an easy task for anyone to handle the politics of Bihar and the leaders of Bihar. The new in -charge Krishna Allavaru had started the work that complaints and regrets were shocked. The entry of a leader from Begusarai has spoiled the situation.

Actually, Kanhaiya Kumar, the young leader of the Congress party, is in the discussion. He contested the Lok Sabha elections on a CPI ticket from Begusarai in 2019 and then joined the party to contest from Delhi on a Congress ticket in 2024 elections.

To create a strong base in his home area, Kanhaiya is recently on a tour in Bihar and is planning to organize a padyatra called ‘Exodus Roco, Employment Do’, which will be organized by the Youth Congress and National Students Union of India (NSUI).

This leader of Begusarai has been appointed in charge of NSUI. Just before the start of the padyatra, Kanhaiya and Bihar in -charge Krishna Allavaru held a press conference in Patna. After this announcement, there was a dispute in the party, as it was taken as priority to Kanhaiya on others. A senior leader said, “Why so soon? Why other leaders were not called or at least not informed that something like this is happening? When the party is starting its election campaign, why the rest was not kept in the loop?”

These big questions arising

To increase the concerns of the party leadership, questions have also been raised at the time of the padyatra. Some Muslim community leaders have questioned why this padyatra is being organized in the month of Ramadan, while the Muslim community, which is an important vote bank of the party, is a fast. Especially when the yatra will pass through about a dozen districts, which has a large part of the Muslim community, and in some districts this community is more than 20 percent. One source confirmed that the leaders had brought their displeasure to the top leadership and requested to do the journey after 30 March. Muslim vote is an important vote bank for Congress and RJD.

Strategy meeting postponed

After failing in the Lok Sabha elections from Delhi, Kanhaiya Kumar has clearly said about his interest in Bihar and the desire to return to the village. However, the recently taken step is being seen by other state leaders to ignore and give Kanhaiya a “free hit”. The leaders of Bihar had time to hold a meeting to discuss the strategy of the upcoming assembly elections from the top leadership of the party in Delhi, but in view of the possible controversy, the meeting has been extended from Wednesday to 18 March.

Distance from coalition

The recent incidents in the Congress were not ignored by its colleague RJD. During Kanhaiya Kumar’s visit to Patna, his supporters shouted slogans to become the Chief Minister of Bihar, which RJD did not like it clearly and his tolerance is being tested. The RJD feels that such actions could have been easily avoided and can affect the seat sharing. A senior RJD leader said, “The Congress is ignoring its allies and is not giving them proper respect. What happened in Delhi was different, but Bihar’s game is different.”
