A member of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for the development of civil society and human rights said that a register of toxic content will appear in Russia. The register will be regulated, and work on it can be completed by the end of the year.
“I expect that this will be a volunteer project, in which each branch will be handled by those who are professionally involved in this”Ashmanov said.
He noted that in order to form a registry of toxic content, volunteers-experts in various fields, who are now being selected, will be needed. “An expert council will be formed from them, work will be organized, some editors will be given to help and technical means. I hope that this project will develop, this year we will launch it”Ashmanov said.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin, following a meeting of the Human Rights Council held in December 2021, instructed to consider proposals for the creation of a self-regulatory registry of toxic content on the Internet to protect minors. The deadline for completion is June 1, 2022. Member Ashmanov made a corresponding proposal at the meeting.
