The company says production has dropped by more than 12 percent during the past month due to annual maintenance shutdowns. The company has informed that under the mini and compact car segment, Maruti Suzuki has manufactured 1,01,166 units of vehicles.
This segment is the largest contributor to the overall sales. For your information, let us tell you that Maruti Suzuki includes models like Alto, Swift, Dzire, Wagon R, Baleno, Ignis, Celerio and S-Presso under its mini and compact car segment.
Apart from this, the company produced a total of 1,519 units of Maruti Ciaz last month, while 38,063 units of utility vehicles and vans have been produced. This segment includes Ertiga, S-Cross, XL6, Vitara Brezza, Jimny, Eeco and OEM models.
Looking at the sales of Maruti Suzuki India in June 2022, the company registered 1,55,857 units of car sales last month, which is 6 percent more than the 1,47,368 units sold in the same month last year. Maruti Suzuki has sold 1,25,710 cars in the domestic market of India last month.
While 6,314 units were sold to other original equipment manufacturers. Last month, the company also exported 23,833 units of cars. Cars in the Mini segment, which includes models such as the Alto and S-Presso, sold 14,442 units in June 2022, down from 17,439 units sold in June 2021.
In the compact segment, models like Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, Wagon-R and Tour-S sold 77,746 units as against 68,846 units in June 2021. Maruti Ciaz, the only model in the mid-size sedan segment, recorded sales of 1,507 units last month, up from 602 units in June 2021 only.
Further, in the utility vehicle segment which includes cars like Brezza, Ertiga, S-Cross and XL6, their sales declined to 18,860 units in June 2022 from 28,172 units in June 2021. Talking about the total sales of passenger vehicles of Maruti Suzuki, the company sold 93,695 units in June 2022, while 86,890 units were sold in June 2021.
